Technical Requirements for Tenders – JavaScript
The Tenders database is designed for use with most recent web browsers. You cannot search the Tenders database unless your Web browser supports JavaScript, but all web browsers have JavaScript enabled by default.

A –
Yes, the Tenders database uses JavaScript to provide essential parts of its functionality. Anyone using the Tenders database must have JavaScript enabled in their browser.
Q –
Does my web browser support JavaScript?
A –
Your web browser does NOT have JavaScript enabled. JavaScript is essential for using Tenders. You must enable JavaScript in your web browser before you can use Tenders.
Q –
Can I use Tenders if my organisation’s firewall blocks all JavaScript from the Internet?
A –
Yes, but you will need to ask your Network Administrator to enable JavaScript for the Tenders website (www.tenders.co.uk).

How can I enable JavaScript in my web browser?
A –
JavaScript is normally enabled by default when a web browser is installed. If you want to check whether it is enabled, or to re-enable it, please select your browser in the following list:
Enabling and disabling JavaScript
Enabling JavaScript in Internet Explorer 7:
Open the “Tools” menu.
Select “Internet Options”, to open the Internet Options dialog box.
Click the “Security” tab.
Click the “Internet” symbol (a globe).
Click the “Custom Level…” button, to open the Security Settings dialog box.
In the Settings list, scroll down to “Scripting”.
Under Active Scripting, click the radio button to the left of “Enable”, so that a coloured dot appears in it.
(If you are unsure about the other Security Settings, please check with your Network Administrator.)
Click “OK” to close the Security Settings dialog box.
Click “Yes” in the Warning! message box.
Click “OK” to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Enabling JavaScript in Internet Explorer 6.x, 5.x or 4.x (Windows):
Click the Tools menu
Click Internet Options ..., to open the Internet Options dialog box
Click the Security tab
Click the Internet symbol (a globe)
Click the Custom Level ... button, to open the Security Settings dialog box
In the Settings list, scroll down to Scripting
Under Active Scripting, click Enable, so that a dot appears next to it
(If you are unsure about the other Security Settings, please check with your Network Administrator)
Click OK to close the Security Settings dialog box
Click Yes in the Warning! message box
Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box
Enabling JavaScript in Firefox:
Open the “Tools” menu.
Select “Options…”, to open the Options dialog box.
In the row of coloured icons at the top, click “Content”.
Click the check box to the left of “Enable JavaScript” so that a tick appears.
Click “OK” to close the Options dialog box.
If you are using Mac OS X, then you need to select Preferences… on the Firefox menu, instead of Options… on the Tools menu.
Enabling JavaScript in Safari:
On the Safari menu, select “Preferences…”
In the Preferences dialog box, click the “Security” icon (a padlock).
In the Web Content section, click the check box next to “Enable JavaScript” so that a tick appears.
Click the red button at the top left to close the Preferences dialog box.
If you are using Mac OS X, then you need to select Preferences… on the Firefox menu, instead of Options… on the Tools menu.
Enabling JavaScript in SeaMonkey:
Open the “Edit” menu.
Select “Preferences…”, to open the Preferences dialog box.
In the Category list, click the triangle next to “Advanced” so that it points downwards.
In the list of items beneath Advanced, click “Scripts & Plugins”.
To the right of the list, beneath Enable JavaScript for, click “Navigator” so that a tick appears.
Click “OK” to close the Preferences dialog box.
If you are using Mac OS X, then you need to select Preferences… on the SeaMonkey menu, instead of on the Tools menu.
Enabling JavaScript in Netscape 7.x (Windows or Mac):
Click the Edit menu
Click Preferences ..., to open the Preferences dialog box
In the Category list, click the triangle next to “Advanced” so that it points downwards
In the list of items beneath Advanced, click “Scripts & Plugins”
To the right of the list, beneath Enable JavaScript for, click “Navigator” to add a tick
Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box
Enabling JavaScript in Internet Explorer 5.x (Mac):
Click the Edit menu
Click Preferences ..., to open the Internet Explorer Preferences dialog box
In the scrolling list, click the triangle next to Web Browser so that it points downwards and you can see the bulleted items beneath it
Click Security Zones
In the Zone: pop-up menu, select Internet Zone
Select Custom (for expert users)
Click the Settings... button to open the Internet zone dialog box
Scroll down so that “Scripting” is visible, and select Enable from the pop-up menu for Execute Scripts
(If you are unsure about the other settings, please check with your Network Administrator)
Click OK to close the Internet zone dialog box
Click OK to close the Internet Explorer Preferences dialog box
Enabling JavaScript in Netscape 6.x or 4.x (Windows or Mac):
Click the Edit menu
Click Preferences ..., to open the Preferences dialog box
In the Category list, click Advanced
To the right of the list, click “Enable JavaScript” to add a tick
